Time for the Democrats to circle their wagons and choose someone who can defeat Trump. Tonight has got to shock even Biden’s most devoted supporters. He looks frail, old, and his answers have been terrible. Please Dems, you have 2-months. Have Biden step aside. America cannot lose to Trump!
Too late for anyone else to defeat Trump. If there was such a candidate Biden wouldn’t have run again but there is nobody else. I am an Independent of over 40 years and I will vote Biden over Trump ALWAYS.
There are at least three: Gov Newsome, Gov Whitmer, and Rep Jeffries. Sadly VP Harris not the easy answer. Democrats need to be honest with themselves and Biden needs to lead this! Too much is at stake to allow Trump to waltz into our WH.
The average American is clueless as to who Newsome, Whitmer and Jeffries are unless they are really into politics. It is too late to introduce them to America now. It would be chaos and Trump would definitely win.
Nobody in this thread even spells Newsom's name correctly, so yeah, safe to say he doesn't have the national reputation to take over this late in the game. Neither do Whitmer or Jeffries. Sadly, the only person who is well-known AND well-liked enough is Bernie, but the party would never tap him.
Bernie wouldn’t stand a chance and it’s NOT just because he is an Independent. Why would the Democratic Party tap an Independent as their candidate anyway? That isn’t how it works.
I'm still floored that he took that way out, and that publicly. I was in my early 20s when he did himself. It made the national news, so everyone knew about it.
