It's an @gruberte.bsky.social travel pin map, actually.
Finally, a single interactive map of the entire world that shows power plants by type and capacity. From Global Energy Monitor, of course. What an amazing resource. What an enormous amount of work must have gone into it. 🔌💡 globalenergymonitor.org/projects/glo...

It's so bad! @gwagner.com and I made the same comparison in an oped last year. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
I used to think nothing could top the US’s ethanol distaster for a toxic combo of horrid climate impact, while pretending (badly) to create positive impact, and blind obeisance to lobbyists. But, here comes what is now happening with hydrogen. Awful. heatmap.news/economy/hydr...

I have long made clear that I think term limits & ethics codes are worthy but not sufficient reforms, but this is *massive* movement by the president of the United States and demonstrates real momentum for reform and reflects deep public outrage at this Republican Supreme Court.

The imagined “normal voter” is always more conservative than them too. Seems like a cognitive dissonance to rationalize the conservative values they’re ashamed to admit they hold.
I think a big mistake liberals make is constantly making up an imagined "normal voter" in their heads to triangulate their opinions around. NO! What do YOU THINK? What do THE PEOPLE YOU ACTUALLY KNOW BELIEVE?

I call this the universal pundit syndrome. An inability to say "this is what i think" and an insistence on asserting "i think this would resonate." I think it is part of the general alienation/loss of self that comes from mass media and social media in particular.

There's a lot of math here but it means GOP plans on fucking over regular people to make the rich richer.
Project 2025 raises taxes on a family of four with two parents earning a combined $100,000 by $2,600, in order to fund a tax cut of over three times their combined income for someone earning $5m. x.com/SteveRattner...

I honestly didn’t even notice but it was wild going through a 10 day + heatwave without even a single text from PG&E begging me to use less power

I told a group of students today, when it was 100 degrees in DC, that “hey this is the coldest summer of the rest of your lives.” They did not laugh. Also, I was not kidding. We’re gonna lose the country and the fucking planet to THIS GUY? No. Unacceptable. Absofuckinglutely not.

This might seem strange but these cops are on the same oil-company payroll that is organizing the RNC so it makes sense if you think about it
Somehow they found the two places in California with more Klan-coded cops than Milwaukee already has that’s wild.

Wow: “If you grow an acre of corn, it will produce 900 gallons of ethanol, which will get you about 25,000 miles for a Ford F-150...which is, not bad I guess. But let’s say we put solar on that same acre. It will produce enough electricity every year to drive my Lightning 550,000 miles.”
