Anyway I'm messing around with southern folk horror

Louisiana horror is always set in swamps, which is ridiculous. All of our biggest cities are built on swamps. Baton Rouge is like 95% drained swamp. That's why it floods all the time. Things make noise in swamps. You can hear them coming. There's a reason we didn't build in the pines.

I've tried for months now, but I just can't get going on this project. Time to shelve it. I'll come back if I can figure out what I want to say.

Doomerism would be giving up on my policy advocacy because "what's the point?". Instead I see an eminently fixable problem, despite the best efforts of my critics.

Covid aware people are engaging in ongoing acts of radical hope. They are doggedly fighting to protect their own health, the health of vulnerable groups, and the overall functioning of society They do this despite shaming, mask bans, social cost, financial cost, etc. That’s surely not doomerism.

some people on here really don’t get how intersectionality works and instead think of it like some sort of pokémon type strength/weakness chart and i really wish that we could collectively acknowledge that there can be multiple important things to address happening all at the same time
