Why would I blame workers when David Zaslav sucks and is in fact the cause of it all?

I just read an article that said "Why is it taking so long for your favorite movies and tv series to air? Blame the writers and actor strikes" No I won't. I'm blaming that ✨single✨ motherfucker at the studio who makes $250 million dollars a year who's one job is supposed to make this shit happen.

The billboard designers perfectly imitated the usual aesthetic sensibilities of wacko anti-abortion signage, and I need to stop and get a photo of this thing (can’t find one online yet).

Drove into New Hampshire today, and immediately saw a “Democrats Will Protect Your Reproductive Rights” billboard with an American flag and a bald eagle on it, from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Excellent work. More of that please.

France is *kinda* making me eat these words tonight since the Left managed to see that defeating the threat of Nazi rule was more important at this moment than all their differences. I’m grateful they saw the light and chose to come together. I hope America can learn from them.

France is now is a case study in what happens when the center-Left and far-Left can’t come together. United those factions could have destroyed LePen. The center-Right and far-Right have no such issues. The end result is Right-wing fascism.

Obviously different countries are different and one should be wary of drawing any conclusions, but I see this and I’m reminded of one very basic fact, which is that by far the biggest political coalition in the US is an anti-MAGA/anti-far right coalition

The 2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition. This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc. If confirmed, key takeaway: Left & Macronist voters transferred onto each other much more than expected. Clear anti-RN front.

The power of Nope keeps these assholes out of city councils, library boards, and school boards. The power of Nope stacks Attorneys General. The power of Nope shifts judges, sherriffs, congress reps, senators. and the power of Nope can be used to keep them on target between elections.

And arguably what I am enjoying most is that this is not the hero theory of history. We’re not seeing a charismatic leader carry the election through rhetoric and force of personality. We’re seeing populations say: nope. I like the power of nope.

I really don’t think most people realize just how hard the boot will come down if Trump and the Republicans win the election. Most people have never experienced the totalitarian surveillance state with the power to reach into their homes and minds at will they are telling us is their plan.

Elementary is a) the best Sherlock adaptation, and b) such an absolute delight to watch, 10000/10 do watch highly rec (ALSO has Lucy Liu dressed like this and come on COME ON)

ELEMENTARY has dropped on Hulu (was it there before and I hadn’t seen it?) and as I’m busted with COVID, I’m indulging. The pilot’s a masterclass, the show’s an A+ example of procedural writing, balancing the serialization and B plots.
