Chicago. Parent. Fat. Bisexual. Bipolar II. Kind of cute if you squint. Nerdy, but in a way that's fairly socially acceptable now. Easily excitable.

I am once again smelling the smell that nobody else can smell and frankly I have to wonder if this is because I am literally crazy. I hear things sometimes. Do I smell them too? This is so frustrating.

I read "instead of high speed rail we got Thanos" which come to think of it could be a pretty good ad campaign too. "Do you really want one individual deciding to slaughter half of us for their own purposes?"

Hey, so. I understand that this is anecdotal and not research, but. It is WILD how useless social media has become for promo. It's a fucking disgrace, really.

Mitzi's clothing design for Ingenue and some of the art from 1919-1921 catalogs that inspired it. An interesting fashion phase between post-Edwardian + comparatively very 'modern' looking 1920s. #Lackadaisy (Design by me and L. Frostad, who drew the finalized character sheet!)

It's extremely good, go read it.
I couldn't sleep, so I read Sunflowers by @keezyyoung.bsky.social and it was... a revelation? It was real good. Find her. Buy it. Read it.

There's way too many "art tutorials" that are like "see this? this looks bad, right? that's because it's terrible and wrong! instead of doing it that way, do it THIS way!!!" and the "this way" is just as bad if not worse. I'm not even talking aesthetics. I mean, like, how a nose connects to a face.

This comic has 2 1/2 "jokes" and this comic explains BOTH of them. 1) the guy's name "samuel a. wood aka saw wood" 2) he's yet another character based visually on that one dude from a show 75 years old 2b) scancarelli does characters based on that one dude so often readers complain about it

Jokes on YOU, Calvin's Dad! Calvin's generation grew up talking CONSTANTLY about their memories of tv shows, movies, and the toys those tv shows and movies advertised.

Lucy is one of my favorite characters and I'd play ticket to ride with her any time. Ahem. My college parties DID involve scrabble and monopoly.

Periodically, I like to reread my favorite Scottish poem: Batman's Aff His Nut by Robert Florence.

I got a buttload of masks from maskc. It took literally a month to ship but they’re cute earloop N95s. I normally wear around the head masks but for some reason those only come in white and MAYBE black. These look nice & I wear them in less crowded situations.
Masking has never been easier - high quality masks are a fire sale item across the internet.

the treatment of the character Anansi (who is an immortal West African trickster god in the book) as an aging sex pest, but one who's so charming that nobody says anything about it... ffs he dies in the middle of assaulting a woman (a scene missing from these excerpts on his website)
this is like the very beginning of the book didn't really register as abnormally creepy when I first read it ~10 years ago but now...oof. i kinda just want others to look at this and form their own opinion without my interpretations tbh

Thanks everyone boosting this, about $1,400 has been raised from this Bluesky thread, and it cleared 40k and is headed toward the 50k goal. A shipping company is volunteering containers, and people are checking out what’s needed. We are helping directly.
Hello social medias... You may not be aware a major Cat 5 hurricane struck an area that normally doesn't get them. The eye passed directly over Carriacou and Petit Martinique. The devastation is tremendous. The need is great. You can help and make a difference: www.gofundme.com/f/the-people...

The up and coming trends in fursuits that I can see from going to furry cons: bats and possums are at an all-time high, moths (and other invertebrates) and domestic dogs (specific breeds, not just generic dogs) are on the rise.

The books used she/her as the default pronoun for players and story tellers instead of he/him or he/she or s/he or what have you. (Does anyone else remember “s/he”?)
Happy birthday, Vampire the Masquerade. Wasn't my jam but it sure appealed to a demographic other games ignored.

Well… yes.
To quote an old post of mine: Mark Rein*Hagen’s 1991’s Vampire the Masquerade offered players the opportunity to play lugubriously morose undead, cursed with eternal youth and abilities beyond those of mortal kind, generally with supernatural beauty tossed in there as well.
