Presto Pasta (1987-1989): Released for those late 80's families on this go, this product from Betty Crocker offered a complete pasta dinner in 12 minutes. The all-in-one package came with a "Fresh-Flo Pouch" of cheese-filled pasta and "Boil'n Pour Pouch" of meat sauce
Oscar Mayer Sack o' Sauce in a Can o' Meat (1948-circa 1955): A novel innovation, in which a meat product was sealed in a can, along with a separate bag of sauce to accompany it. The idea was to package both together for convenience, but separate to retain flavor and texture
There will never be another food name as great as 'Sack o'Sauce in a can o'Meat.' The random capitalization! The o' which randomly hints at o'Meat and o'Sauce clans! It's pure genius.
Or a jar of Victoria, Rao's, or Sclafani, if you like things that taste good, but yes. Like how is this different other than being all in one box and probably inferior quality? 😄
And I guess people figured that out quickly enough.
