The plan is to watch the fireworks from the top floor, so its not completely without purpose.

My office caters an event for the fourth. Great view of the Mall from a balcony on the top floor. So popular you have to sign up for a raffle to get a spot.

It doesn’t start to get dark for 6 hours, you freak.

Actually, that’s a pretty good reason.

I’m really lucky that I can see the fireworks from Dupont Circle (the actual circle), so it’s just a very short walk.

I used to spend some evenings/weekends in a giant empty NYC office building, perhaps stupidly if not psychopathically. In one case, my plan was to drop by and grab some work to take home; my purpose, it seems, was to discover a ginormous flood starting one floor above, and alert the authorities.

The weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate 🙁

Is that the new building? Looked nice when I was there for an alumni event though I'll always think fondly on my classes in a windowless room in the car barn.
