Here's my final figure showing the scattering efficiency of a sphere in Mie scattering, with the different multipole contributions illustrated. I ended up citing Wikipedia because I could not find a better choice of parameters than theirs!
Another fun Einstein letter: Whittaker was writing a book on the history of the aether and refused to give Einstein credit for relativity. Born was upset but Einstein, in short:
