All of this is true, and in addition, when we stop using AI art, it stops using water and electricity, but if we stop using human artists, the human still exists and has needs that must be met.
An AI datacenter devours enough water and electricity for a whole city of people each day. A human artist only takes up as much electricity and water as any single human. This is why, even if we settle copyrights and such, AI will always be immoral. Just pay a human.

The rise of AI-generated photos poses a serious threat to our understanding of history. As these fake images become increasingly convincing, it's getting harder to separate fact from fiction. I'd love for you to take a few minutes to read this: marinaamaral.substack.com/p/ai-is-crea...

I have a long held belief that conservatives cannot understand narrative and have no ability to deconstruct story whatsoever. It’s like some kind of universal comprehension barrier that they all share. Talking to them about literally any piece of media is actually a stunning experience.

Pretty much every single time a company is acquired and they are loaded with debt, it is a recipe for short-term extraction of assets and eventually declaring bankruptcy. There is no amount of cost-cutting that can be done to satisfy the debt. Now it's Joann Fabrics.

maybe if the private equity firm didn’t make fabric 10+ dollars a yard (with some being FIFTY A YARD for shitty fabric), sewing patterns upwards of 10 dollars, and price people out of the market, we wouldn’t be here, hm?
Just got a news alert saying Joann Fabrics is going into bankruptcy due to decreasing demand. Article fails to say that it was purchased by a private equity firm a while ago and recently went public and is carrying $2.4 billion in debt. Private equity strikes again.

I feel sometimes people really don't understand how deeply inappropriate comments from editors can harm a writer. I don't mean critical. I mean: racist, queerphobic, transphobic, sinophobic, etc. It's not comments that should be given to anyone. Period. It's really crossing a line and unacceptable.
