Cheating on my babies with this little cuddle bug, Tybalt

I have one of my book clubs this afternoon and my motivation to go is zero. But I haven't seen these friends in a while and there will a tiny new kitten to play with so I'll probably force myself .

My flight home is delayed but at least I’m really enjoying the music Boston Logan airport is playing

The show was fantastic. Totally worth the trip. If I didn’t already know the music and lyrics were by Florence Welch I probably could have guessed because it very much sounded like her. Also I like that they made all the queer subtext in The Great Gatsby text.

That was a very bonkers flight path to Boston from Baltimore avoiding storms

On a plane to Boston where I will spend about 10 hours. Having lunch with my sister and youngest niece (eldest niece and her dad will be at volleyball tryouts), seeing the Florence Welch version of The Great Gatsby, coming home. Maybe a Harvard museum to kill time before lunch.

I feel like we’ve reached a whole new level of horrible when people not only knowingly attend a large conference unmasked with COVID but then go online and blog about how they did it. Really glad I didn’t attend ALA.

This is a new one. They’re asking people to check bags not because they’re worried that there isn’t enough overhead space but because this flight is not that full and they need more weight in the bottom of the plane.

If you’re a music lover like me I highly recommend the documentary Immediate Family now on Hulu about the session musicians who play on like every hit you know from the 70s.

I had both Crumbl Cookies and Georgetown Cupcakes yesterday and don’t understand the hype for either. I was eh about both of them. Crumbl in particular I found way too sweet so much so that it was unpleasant.

I've started watching Wildfire on Netflix. It's an old ABC Family show from 2008 about girl who gets out of juvenile detention under a work release at a struggling horse farm that trains race horses. It's ridiculous and I have no regrets.

Turns out there is actually a great view of the Baltimore City fireworks from the Rotunda parking garage roof. I’m usually at a friends pool party on the 4th but we went to a family thing this year that we were home from by 6:30, so good to know for future years we might be home.

Walked up to the roof of the parking garage at the highest elevation in my neighborhood (at the Rotunda for Baltimore peeps) and have a panoramic view of fireworks from around the city and into the county except you can’t see the actual Baltimore City fireworks because of a wall.

It is nowhere close to dark yet. Why are so many fools setting off fireworks already? Though honestly better now than into the wee hours of the morning when I’m trying to sleep

I really love the people in my neighborhood. These dinosaurs get dressed up seasonally using laminated paper decorations

I am not an audio book person at all because my mind wanders and I miss too much stuff, but one of my book clubs picked a book that I can't get through the library and Amazon is doing a 3 free month subscription to Audible so I signed up for that so I could listen to the book for free.

I miss the outdoor movies in Little Italy in Baltimore. I wish they were still a thing.

It took an unbelievable two weeks to get all the information we need to replace our HVAC system, but we finally signed a contract. Will take a couple of weeks before the system is in and they can install it, so fingers crossed the twine and string holding our current system together holds until then

In case you need a new gentle delightful show to watch that you've probably never heard of let me recommend Still Standing on Prime. A Canadian stand-up comic goes to small towns in Canada and learns about the town and it's people and does a personalized stand-up set for them about it. I love it.
