They didn't want to do the de-ageing stuff, yeah, yeah, I get it, but also goddamn Charlize Theron was iconic

Ironically they were happy to use CGI and AI to paste elements of ATJ’s face on the young actress to smooth the transition from child to young adult. (Maybe the only thing in the flick that bugs me.)

She's aging like fine wine and they wouldn't have to do much or anything. There has to be a better reason.

she is a child for part of it, but they fast forward to her adulthood, and there’s no good reason they couldn’t have let charlize do it (except ageism)

and she did *not* age in a way that i wouldn’t buy her in the role. i’ve seen what even george miller specifically can do with makeup.

I also thought young Furiosa gave a great performance and was in the film so much longer than I would have guessed

I have read nothing about Furiosa but from what I’ve heard about the production of Fury Road is this a case of them not letting her play the role or her telling the to pound sand at the thought of another film?

Color me surprised, but in that case agreed. Love Anya Taylor Joy but with as squishy as time was in Furiosa no reason not to bring Theron back

yah like I absolutely fucking loved furiosa and have zero complaints about Anya's performance at all, but having Charlize back would have been cool as hell such is Hollywood I suppose :(

Yeah, didn't bother to see it because of the casting. I was really excited before they announced it.
