This was always true. This has always been true for every marginalized community in every single only these “advanced democracies.” Welcome to the world your privilege has shielded you from. This is life outside the cave.
How do we adjust to a world where major democracies have long-term viable fascist parties? It feels like we'll just be having existential election after existential election, and we have to win every time whereas they only have to win once.

Big Trouble In Little China, The Thing, and Escape From New York are not a trilogy. It's a quadrilogy culminating in Overboard featuring Goldie Hawn.

The BBC’s “Seats Changed” map is wild. You can now walk from the coast of North Devon up to Bicester and then down to Eastbourne without ever leaving newly Lib Dem seats. Tired: The Blue Wall Wired: The YELLOW SNAKE

MANDATORY RESKEET
We’ve had the rule for how ever many years but I still click and watch the video every single time. Some days it can end up in my feed half a dozen times and I will still watch every time. It never gets old. I love it every single time I watch it

I'll be voting Green today. They won't win. But a large enough vote will give that fucker Starmer something to think about, if he wants a second term. I can't vote for isolationist transphobic authoritarian neoliberalism. Fuck that man every bit as much as Sunak. #VoteGreen

Science is just Academic FAFO
When an article says "some scientists think" then remember this: I, a scientist, once thought I could fit a whole orange in my mouth. I could, it turns out, get it in there, but I hadn't given sufficient thought to the reverse operation.

Apparently the government of the Yucatán recently erected a Poseidon statue on one of their major beaches. It’s a very heavily Mayan area, where people still pray to Chaac, the god of rainfall. They’re now being slammed with 3 hurricanes and significant flooding, leading to memes like this
