No but I love when all you beautiful sickos start posting shit like "Bogroubler flips Hambarn upon Gwynyychlyyrah! A huge result!" It's like hanging out with people being poisoned by carbon monoxide. None of those places are real

Just me over here trying to normalize squash as an ornamental. 🌿🌱#permaculture

It’s weird. The greatest generation gave birth to the worst and Gen X, the “latchkey children”, raised the most clingy, helpless, clueless generation of all time.

Aronia berries are looking good. #permaculture 🌿🌱

One of my favorite parts about visiting rural Kentucky is listening to Swap Shop on the radio. Erma June has a mobil deer hut and a free cat that will be fixed next Thursday.

Elderflower harvest. We harvest the flowers at peddle drop and then we can harvest berries later off the same head. Two full harvests off the same plant/ head is an incredible attribute of elder. The flowers are the best tasting part imo. Delicious in syrups, shrubs, cordials #permaculture 🌱🌿

Potted up 30 reapers and some Primotalii x’s in 5 gal pots. Babies are settling well into the shade house. They probably won’t make it out of there this year so I’ll over winter them under lights for next year. Went with pots so I can move them into the high tunnel when we get it up. 🌿🌱#permaculture

I was lucky enough to start my day today in the woods gathering bark for Hickory Syrup. I think it was the first thing we made as a business and still holds strong. It’s still one of my favs. It doesn’t suck that the process begins by traipsing around through the woods. 🌱🌿🍽️ #permaculture

Last year I had the issue of my pepper plants getting too much sun. Sounds crazy but once i put shade cloth over them they flourished after struggling. This year I’m planting lemongrass in the west end of my beds to shade afternoon sun. Also super happy with these volunteer hyssop. 🌱🌿 #permaculture

Pretty stiff breeze last night. Sad to see the 100 year old walnut take a hit. Tornado (not my pic) was just a few miles south of us. We got hit by a Derecho a few minutes later.

Today I did a small test batch. Pickled garlic scapes in a brown sugar balsamic fire cider brine. The idea is that once you are finished with the scapes the brine can be used on other veggies like green beans and asparagus as a sauce. 🍽️🌿🌱#permaculture

Mornings in the summer start early. Farming in the mornings and evening bookend our cooking and selling at the shop. Two beds today. Mixed tomato/ pepper first and a pepper breeding bed of Italian sweets and reaper, my dream combination. Fingers crossed the bees will do their job. 🌱🌿#permaculture

It’s official. Pickling season is here. Not gonna lie I couldn’t sleep well last night in anticipation of today. Exciting and fun time of year. I love the experimental versatility and creative opportunities of pickling. These are turnip pickles in a fire cider brine. 🌱🌿🍽️ #permaculture

First mulberry’s of the year. Wild White Mulberry. It grows all over the farm especially in the fence rows. Planted by perching birds last spring. I try to emulate this with chicken poop when I grow mulberry from seed. 🌱🌿#permaculture

A thing of beauty. Let’s normalize elderberry as an edible, native, ornamental. 🌿🌱#permaculture

It’s about figgin time! Was wondering if our Chicago Hardy would survive and it did. Last years growth didn’t winter but it’s springing back into action. 🌿🌱#permaculture

Aronia berries are looking great this year. Their second year in the ground so our first decent crop hopefully. Looking forward to the challenge of incorporating something called “choke berry” into some recipes. They are packed with beneficial qualities so excited to work with them.🌱🌿🍽️ #permaculture

Our first honeysuckle harvest this morning and into the dehydrator. Broke off a bit to make a batch of Wild Blackberry Honeysuckle shrub. A lovely way to spend the morning. 🌿🌱🍽️ #permaculture

This seems right. We were in the moderate zone before and now medium. Definitely an uptake here. We drive frequently through the new “high” zone and metal is commonly wrapped around trees throughout that area. www.scientificamerican.com/article/watc...
