The NHS gender service in the UK suppressed evidence regarding 16 patient deaths from suicide in the 3 years following heavy restrictions placed on access to care in the wake of the Bell case. There was only 1 in the years prior. This should be an international scandal.

The simplest way of explaining the dishonesty of "exploratory therapy" is: who do you think is the "explorer" in question? A lot of well-intentioned people will assume it's the patient "exploring" possible gender options, when really it's the therapist "exploring" what might "cause" them being trans

Someone directed my attention to extra material of the Cass Review from the listening sessions held with trans youth and their families, and it's just heartbreaking. These kids openly begged Cass not to see transition as an inherently bad outcome and that was one of the main outcomes.

As long as transition is gatekept by cisgenders who see transition as a last resort and something that needs to be poked and prodded in the HOPE the child is not trans, getting access to trans healthcare will remain the cruel dehumanising exercise it is

Yknow maybe putting a teenager through a rigorous series of tests, psychologists, psychiatrists constantly implying they dont believe you and that you dont know your own body and mind is very bad

With the trans healthcare for trans youth being under attack so much ive been thinking a lot about my own experiences at The Dutch Clinic and how even though the dutch system is more or less as good as it gets for trans care it still left me basically a bit traumatised by some of it
