I’m not trying to tell anyone what to do. I will say that I believe Biden crossed a terrible line here. And Trump has and will cross so many more that comparison is just looking for symmetry where there is none. Withholding or splitting your vote doesn’t hurt the Democratic Party. Just all of us.

I’m sorry a Republican voter shot at the Republican leader at a Republican rally, and especially that he killed a Republican rally-goer and injured two more. I wish it didn’t happen, and hope nothing like it ever happens again. I just don’t see how non-Republicans could be the ones to solve it.

No one in America has done more to normalize the idea of political violence than the man who was the target of it tonight. There is no contradiction in deploring what happened and saying that any Republican who supports Trump has forfeited the right to be heard on the subject.
