when republican leaders who opt out of these funds argue that it’s too expensive to administer the program what they mean is that it will be harder for businesses to exploit the labor of workers desperate to feed their families. they fundamentally oppose lifting all boats to benefit those at the top
The governors of a dozen Republican-led states — AL, AK, FL, GA, IA, MS, OK, SC, SD, TX, UT, WY — opted out of a new federal food assistance program, leaving about 9.5 million students without the aid this summer

do we think this guy from New Jersey would have driven his pickup truck to Manhattan to get drunk had there been a $15 congestion pricing fee in place?

Joe is gone. the man served his country and earned his place in US history. but this is horrifying to read and the charade has to end. Democrats will unite behind his replacement. let him step aside for his own sake and the good of the nation.

After killing congestion pricing and then wearing an MTA shirt at Pride, Governor Kathy Hochul continues to demonstrate her contempt for New Yorkers. Her profile pic on X is now her riding the subway.

This 4th of July, take a little time to think about how the Left can try to reclaim patriotism from conservatives. Seems like the story of a country that cast off a king and fought a civil war to free the slaves is fertile ground given our present moment.

Breaking news: President Biden and his senior team said they accepted the grim ultimatum they’ve been hearing from almost all quarters of the Democratic Party — to demonstrate his fitness for office or face a significant effort to force him to step aside.
Biden and aides concede he needs to quickly demonstrate his fitness for officewww.washingtonpost.com Critics have been shaken by his relative inaction to directly address the panic ignited by his halting debate performance last Thursday.

Higher interest rates are reducing multi-family and existing sales and construction, while incentivizing new greenfield home sales. Developers buy down rates on new builds that existing homes can't. So, high rates likely lead to more sprawl and driving, at the cost of where we want more housing.

"The Parks Department is getting $20 million less funding than last year even as the city budget grew by $5 billion."
As a candidate, Eric Adams promised that at least 1% of the city’s overall budget would go to the city’s parks. But in a $112.4 billion budget, the department will receive 0.55%, the lowest share of funding set forth in an adopted budget in a decade. www.thecity.nyc/2024/07/01/p...

a phased ramp-up of the congestion fee, to an eventual $15, with alternative funding sources to make up the deficit in the meantime, would be acceptable. implementable compromise is favorable to a drawn out court battle that stretches into a second Trump term where the pending program dies forever.

new jersey democrats are manufacturing a transit death spiral for the region. first they came for congestion pricing in the courts (still pending) and now they’re hoping to put the nail in the coffin for NJ transit commuters. stop electing politicians who are bought and paid for by big automobile.

it’s casual Friday. no need to come at Hochul with policy arguments or facts. just call her office and let them know you’re pissed off.
besides revealing how out of touch she is with the city this is a totally dishonest argument against congestion pricing. call the governor and give her a slice of your mind 518-474-8390
