Melbourne Airport has agreed to a “compromise” and will back down on its demand for an underground railway station, in the hope it can bring forward the project’s completion date to 2030.
The airport’s chief executive officer, Lorie Argus, on Monday announced the airport would adopt the Victorian government’s preferred above-ground station proposal.
