The genius of Colbert is that he *is* a conservative. As a Catholic from South Carolina, he understands that culture inside and out -- that’s what made his satire so sharp -- but he rejected their racism and hatred of queer people and that’s what drives them up the bend 😃

I don't think Stephen Colbert is a conservative in real life. Growing up in a conservative household is a pretty traditional recipe for becoming radicalized.

He’s a devout Christian but a liberal one and a polarized America doesn’t know what to do with that ❤️

My experience is that there is no joke so over the top that people will not believe you are serious.

Idk, but where we went to college, bears actually were a threat. We had more than one lockdown because of them. Which was silly imo because they were just black bears. But I'm probably weird in that regard, because I wound up getting a 120 lb dog who I also consider small.

On one hand, I'm not really sure what they are supposed to do about it short of cancelling the show? On the other...maybe they should've just cancelled the show and gotten jobs doing something else? Maybe I'm biased, but I find it hard to fault satirists, particularly talented ones.
