We’ll see if the Proud Boys can get something organized for sentencing day with six weeks’ notice. But I think we can say he hasn’t inspired an “organic” or spontaneous protest.
Just as I spent 4 years thankful for the sheer incompetence of Trump and his people, I’m also thankful that most of his followers who talk so big anonymously on social media are actually cowards who wouldn’t dare venture out of their hideaways in their mom’s basement.
They did come out in droves for Jan 6. Then a bunch of them got arrested and convicted for it. I'd like to think that's had a chilling effect on future attempts.
I do agree, I'm sick and tired of people just standing by while MAGAs harass old grandmothers, minorities and anyone that actually brings law and order. If they punch us, we should double punch them.
All the competent organizers are in jail or awaiting trial, the ones I saw out there today were probably roused by Trump operatives from a local YMCA, given MAGA gear to put on, and a bottle of fortified wine if they yelled something incoherent at a member of the press
In one local group I've spoken with, there are a few R's that I was worried about dealing with, but I haven't heard a single word about "The Liberals" or anything like that and have heard someone speak on a few occasions about "the MAG-uhs" (pronunciation made it even better for me). Just anecdote.
