The President Biden situation since the debate could/should be an Inciting Incident for an entire season of Veep. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
When Biden said he hadn't seen those poll numbers, hadn't heard of regular people saying that Dems should get a new candidate, etc., I believe him. He is clearly being completely shielded to protect him.
I truly believe that Biden thinks he is still spry and still feels that way. When old people's minds start going it's truly a terribly sad thing. Undoubtedly Stephanopoulos was the first person who was being honest with Biden. So sad, and understandable.
Stephanopoulos said many Dems "want you to go with grace" and bow out, and Biden literally can't even comprehend this. Steph did a great, gentle job of wording that question. Biden's response shows ppl around him are telling him what he wants to hear.
I really wish this interview with Biden was done by a psychologist or someone with a bit more gentleness than Stephanopoulos, a journalist. Not saying that Biden shouldn't be asked tough questions or that Steph isn't doing his job. I just feel like the situation we need requires us to be gentle.
Stephanopolous' Biden interview is actually making me feel so bad for Biden. Nobody wants to be told that you're too old and you're losing your sharpness. It's the literally the same painful convo when taking away an old folk's car keys. It's a heartbreaking conversation.
My wife has really enjoyed playing the Harry Potter game on Xbox. She is almost done with it and is asking what games are similar. RPGs are not my thing; if someone enjoys the Harry Potter game, what game would you recommend next? In the past she has enjoyed GTA, but specifically doesn't like FPSs.
I'm watching The Boys for the first time (on episode like 3) and I'm confused as to why people liked Homelander? Is it that he has a mommy-complex? That he has zero remorse for killing an entire airplane of civilians? That he baptizes people behind the scenes of a bigoted Jesus Fest? lol
Joe Biden still seems out of it, standing behind a spry Dr. Jill. I'm reminded of FDR and Eleanor (both of whom I don't like lol); there are questions about whether Eleanor was pulling strings behind the scenes towards the end of FDR's presidency bc he was in bad shape. How 'bout Jill run? lol
Scott Jennings got it right -- this is a scandal. Biden's performance tonight was so scary the party is scrambling to find an alternative candidate, but it's disconcerting that he's currently leading the entire country. Totally fair. #PresidentialDebate
At this point “the call is coming from in the house” for the Dems. They’ll need to fix themselves before even thinking of attacking Trump right now. #PresidentialDebate
MTV News online founding editor Michael Alex pulling zero punches, rightly.
"History needs stewards, not owners. Whoever legally owns the archive does not legally own the history."
At the end of the day, I don't need to be excited about the top of the ticket to be excited about this election. The presidential election is a root canal. Unfun but probably important not to avoid.
DOWN BALLOT IS WHERE IT'S AT!
Let's codify abortion!
Let's kick these bitches off school boards!
trump is so awful that even people who have never voted democrat a day in their life want to vote against him and the democratic party has capitalized on this by running a man who can't even string three coherent sentences together.
it's unbelievable. it's unbelievable!
What if 💨 the founders made the concept of federalism because they knew it would protect us from the stupidity at the top? Most issues of day-to-day life are at mercy of local politics — how the cops, legal system, economy, and crime are in your city/town. The president is minuscule in comparison.
