LOL HONESTLY SAME. The Thoughts 'n' Prayers crowd has instilled in a lot of Americans that just making a sad face and shaking your head is the only acceptable charity. Someone investing a bunch of actual funds in material help highlights how little you actually do. Like megachurch pastors.

It’s always struck me as quasi-religious the way people attack charity - like if it’s not done for the right reasons it’s bad. My inner cynic also thinks that greedy non-charitable bastards promote that take so they don’t look bad.

Never mind, re-rig is called off, got caught on the edge of a storm between Sage Hills and Gold Rock City and got a chance to unfurl all sails, I look sick as hell, I'm not changing this

For now, tho, I'll probably be taking my ship back to Gold Rock City soon to be re-rigged as some kind of weird psuedo-schooner. My square sails get nearly no play on two out of three masts. There's gotta be a better configuration.

“They want to eliminate national parks” is a very simple way to get just about anyone on the Stop Project 2025 train. Are there much more glaring and life-threatening goals of P25? Yes but even your most bigoted cousin does not want to see the parks system sold for parts.

I've begun modding my game of Sailwind, and naturally, the first mod I went for is Boat Colors. Who's shocked by the palette? I know, really outta left field on this one.

I also installed the "Passage Dude" mod, which puts a person like this is every mid-to-large port, willing to book you passage on a ship not your own, to both local ports and ones way out in the world. It can be both BREATHTAKINGLY expensive, and dangerous.
