Similar to what @jbouie.bsky.social wrote about, here’s more pretending Democrats want a dictatorship in order to create a GOP dictatorship, this time from Claremont Institute americanmind.org/salvo/the-po...
Alito wants ppl to think Dems want “complete power”. But Ds just want to maintain pluralism&ability for parties to compete fairly. Pretending Ds want total control is a way to convince people that the Republican power grab is in self-defense. From @jbouie.bsky.socialwww.nytimes.com/2024/06/14/o...
the striking thing about all of these breathless declarations of a post-constitutional order is that none of them ever actually describe with any substance the injustice or injury being done to them. it's taken as self-evident that they are being trampled by dictatorship.
Democrats and the people who make up their coalition are illegitimate people, and if anything happens that is good for them, they must have orchestrated it by illegitimate means
"Conservativism consists of exactly one proposition..."
We're trying to bind the elect and protect the undeserving; of course this is experienced by the unjust as evil—we *are* trying to take something from them.
The concept that their having a say in society might depend on their forming a coalition to create a majority through compromise is utterly hateful to them, and they're willing to burn down the whole world to avoid the ego injury.
That's what the outgroup du jour is all about. Outgroup exists, therefore "it's" being shoved down your throat, thus you need to support conveniently only Republicans to fight back.
They also say Biden has brought America "to its knees" and I wonder where they have stuck their brain, because they are driving without a navigation system.
