Right, so this is the story of the old mate I was out with last night, didn't happen to me, but too good not to repeat. Will probably only work for the Brit adjacent.

Early birthday present to myself: the 2000 AD Art of Steve Dillon “Apex” edition, reprinting work at its original art size (it's huge!). Steve was my #1 favourite artist, a superb storyteller who could draw absolutely anything and make you believe it. Comics, and the world, is poorer without him.

So I want to talk about this from the perspective of someone who does professional fact checking as part of my work. For some years now I have been paid to check TV and written content themed around animals to make sure it is factually accurate. Chat GPT & AI has made that job so much harder.
Uhhhh… this is probably bad 😬😬

TfL bringing in officially designated busking spots and licences depressed me no end at the time. There's something just so wrong about it. Who complained about people just playing guitar or sax in an echoey tunnel? I liked it, and if you didn't you just kept walking. Anyway, fast forward to now...

1/? WWII story time. In the 90s I was part of a Danish program where high school students interviewed surviving resistance fighters and got their stories written down. Two of the men I interviewed had been part of one of the largest and most dramatic actions taken by the resistance.

Watching Out of Sight with friends tonight, so I checked my copy last night. Twenty minutes in, I had to wrench myself away from the screen. Sublime movie-making. Effortlessly tight.

This semester I’m going to tell my students I don’t care if they use ChatGPT to write their papers, much as I don’t care if they use LSD and a ouija board write their papers. I’ll give fancy-sounding bullshit a failing grade no matter how it’s produced.
Well this is grim
