Another thing I noticed: LOTS of lettering errors. I don't mean to pick on anyone, but they were really noticeable, more so than in any other collection I've read in recent memory. Lots of "the the," but also missing words. Sometimes left out, but other times something obscured them
Finished up the ALPHA FLIGHT BY JOHN BYRNE omnibus earlier and I'm experiencing a bit of a Mandela Effect. Which is to say that my memory is shit. I remember the end of Byrne's run, with the Hulk being pulled out of the crossroads dimension and smashing Box going very differently.

I know I can't get 6 million people to click on a link to the site where I post stuff about #comics ...but it would be lifechanging for me and wouldn't involve much effort. So maybe just give it a shot? Click the link, repost, encourage others to do the same. Just see how many clicks we CAN get.

Trump raped a woman, was revealed as being in constant contact with a sex trafficker, stole nuclear secrets, is old, forged electoral certificates, was convicted of 34 felonies, committed fraud, is literally on the Saudi payroll, sent a mob to hang his VP but the opponent is also old.
In this chat, we suggest a distinction between covering something (NYT does great reporting on Trump's autocratic plans), and *crusading.* The latter is wholly different: It uses saturation coverage to alert readers that they should be alarmed. That's just not happening w/r/t Trump's unfitness.

Because I apparently put *some* thought into what I was grabbing, I also picked up WHAT IF ELEKTRA HAD LIVED? at the same time. Sadly, that one has been lost to the The Ages.
Most notable/significant pick was DAREDEVIL #181.
The Ageswww.opendoor-comics.com I frequently see other comics folks posting pictures of comics that I once had but no longer do, and I’ll often respond by noting that my copies of them have been “lost to the ages.&#82…

After our house fire, my parents and I were staying at my sister's apartment. While we were there, my mom noticed an ad in the paper for a guy who was selling his comic collection, so one day I headed over to this guy's apartment with probably 20 bucks in hand and sifted through them.
I never saw it in the wild, but I had a chance to pick it up a few years later from a guy who was selling his collection. I flipped through it, but ultimately opted not to grab it. I'm not sure why. Probably a money thing, but maybe because Jean was already back by that time.

Probably the pivot MAD made to the magazine format. I’ve read the early stuff, and nobody would remember it now if it just stayed a comic anthology.

There are a lot of covers I love, and many of them are from Leo Moracchioli, but I'm just especially fond of his cover of "Like a Prayer." It really shouldn't work as well as it does.
Other than Hurt by Johnny Cash and any version of The Sound of Silence, what are your favorite cover versions of famous songs?

The worst was Maggie Haberman talking about how Sarah Huckabee Sanders was inspiring because she bravely withstood vicious attacks on her appearance with grace and strength despite there being no such attacks. In the context of the joke she was actually *complimented* on her appearance.
and then somehow for whatever surely unrelated reason she was absolutely pilloried in a million different articles for being mean to poor dear sweet innocent Sarah Huckabee Sanders and forced to apologize even though nothing she said about her was untrue or even THAT harsh

This is the entire view of the right and one they’re pushing out tons of propaganda about. It’s why we get 10,000 stories of people shoplifting from Walgreens and nothing about tax cheats even though it involves multitudes more money. They want to define crime as existing entirely within the poor
Holy. Shit. They're literally saying Trump's felonies aren't that bad compared to the "real felonies". Bear in mind, they're ignoring J6 and "gimme 12000 votes" call and the stolen docs. We joke, but this is literally Newsmax copy.

Congratulations to @bsky.app, which just passed the six million users mark. That's roughly the size of the population of the great state of Maryland. Please have some cake (crab OR Smith Island, or both!) to celebrate!
