In episodes 1–6, Frank Drebbin crashes into things—trash cans, bicycles, etc.—when he pulls up to the station. Apparently the plan was to match the number of things with the episode number, so if there were an episode 7, he woulda smashed 7 things.

The Complete Series DVD is super cheap and would be worthwhile at thrice the cost, too. (I bought it twice plus as gifts.) Could burn and put in the cloud and stream to yourself.
I was secretary for Police Squad! production. Little known trivia: John Belushi did a "special guest" joke appearance - found dead in pool before credits. Then he died. It was taken out before broadcast (forget who replaced him). That clip somewhere in Paramount vaults.
As a historian, a DVD player is worth having since streaming is so fleeting, and physical media is more lasting. Plus thrift stores are a cheap source of a wealth of media.
