I always think “Man, I remember the days when the Republicans weren’t totally bat shit” until I read & remember recent history (their intentional neglect on AIDS, their treatment towards Obama, satanic panic, Newt Gingrich in the 90’s, etc,.) and having to sit my ass down some more. :/

This and our Public Libraries are reasons why “We shouldn’t have [insert necessity] because government” is such bull. We can have excellent/decent public institutions and necessities if we actually vote and demand people and orgs. to do such things!

Remember when he said he’d help try to solve world hunger with that kinda money (and more)? Gosh, I remember that ambitious optimism this man used to bring. How the mighty have fallen. 🙃

Hey wanna see something not terrible? One of the Moth Appreciators brought a rosy maple moth stuffed animal for good luck, then we found a rosy maple moth. Gathering around the moth on a stick is a nice & wholesome activity. Sometimes things are good.

It’s convenient that the “aMeRiCa FiRsT” party would spend as much time and money on both kissing Putin’s nutsack and wrangling in folk who don’t even ring a bell to their Facebook-bubbled bees. At least Biden’s worldwide troop has people you can find brand new articles on in a mere second.

Somehow the least eyeroll-worthy supporter I’ve seen in the past 8 years. Helps that she still has the brain capacity to think “Actually, this wasn’t Biden’s doing”. Still sucks that she doesn’t even recognize the irony of this moment, though. Idk, I’d like to hope…

Probably from one of the ‘burbs too, not even in the city itself.

This turtle might be a monster, but this is just yet another example of the “old Republicans” (some of whom were actually seemingly sane until circa 2020) now grinding through the wringers of MAGA. 🙃 And in this man’s case, it was partially his own creation, like a monster eating its own creator.

I just use it as an anonymous porn saver/viewer, lol. Might consider deleting my account soon though, even the mere access feels like a black hole now. Interestingly though, I’ve also seen a lot of folk giving huge backlash to the recent bullshit on there (though it could also be my algorithm).

As toxic as the site has become, the most searched results I’m seeing tend to be very non-supportive and negative towards the human cancer cell and his troops (lots of “fuck, seriously???” Instead of support), though again, it could just be me. Not sure what the average Twitter account results are.

Anywhom, I need to stop on the political train for a bit. 😵‍💫 I can’t just repost chill pill posts when I’m not practicing it myself, lol.

Friends, it's Sunday. Go outside. Take a nap. Spend time with loved ones. Cool off in a body of water. Go to a house of worship if that's your thing. Nothing is going to change by doom scrolling. Take care of yourselves. It is a very, very good day to get offline.

[3/3] And as much as I hate seeing where our state’s politics have fallen into since Trump, but I’d hate to leave my home and its beauties because of these assholes and let them take the gavel. Obviously, I can’t tell trans folk what to do, but I don’t blame those that are hesitant to move.
Avatar
[1/3] Not to encourage “tough it out” attitudes, but I also feel like this kinda stuff only leaves a vacuum for the rest of the assholes/extremists to take over. My state (OH) is seemingly in this weird moment now where we’re realizing that the Republicans aren’t as “moderate” as they used to be.
Avatar
[2/3] I know the Republican downfall goes back to Reagan and all, but even less than 5 years ago, we had folk in CONGRESS that things like marriage equality up until very recently (see Portman). The party’s recent acts on abortion and weed here have sort of knocked even some Trumpies off a bit.

***that SUPPORTED things like marriage equality until recently.

It’s almost like all the shit I learned in regards to “fact vs. opinion” in school has largely been thrown out the window by the wider public and MSM in the past 4 years alone (and longer).
Avatar
Holy shit… I had no idea it was that severe! Doesn’t help that the introduction of the op-ed in journalism overall has had a detrimental impact on the industry and wider world overall, giving way more credit to opinions overall rather than having facts in the spotlight. youtu.be/j3yvGLROXLM?...

Didn’t NYT pull some weird transphobic shit last year as well? I remember a bunch of the writing staff even having to step up and write in an open letter “Hey, the attitudes and articles coming outta NYT are transphobic”.

Man. I think Project 2025 has broken through: the thirst trap gays on IG are posting about it.

Didn’t Reagan have a shitty debate in ‘84 and still had a near- nationwide landslide in November? It’s almost like, especially given Project 2025 and what another Trump term entails for everyone, a man somewhat declining due to age is still better than a sweaty ol’ fascist.
