I get why people say “if you are struggling, reach out,” when they learn someone has died by suicide, but as someone who was very recently struggling — and, for the record, not at all suicidal — that’s actually really hard to do!

Reading a book that reframes "having a nervous breakdown" as "having a positive disintegration," which happens when people break inside to give them the opportunity to reorganize their lives into something more authentic and sustainable and... I mean, that tracks. Doesn't always work, but tracks.

To be clear, the major problem was not that fans without tickets tried to rush the gates. That happens at any major event. It's that the organisers' response was to slam the gates shut on a line of thousands. Any English football fan will read this and scream "YOU FUCKING IDIOTS"
