It's very odd to me that I've never seen An American Tail streaming on any service. You can buy or rent it off Amazon or Google, but it doesn't stream anywhere. Who owns the rights to it now, anyway?

I need all the weird 80s children movies to be streaming online so I can traumatize the next generation

So this. My dad REFUSED to pay for a video membership, so my tastes were largely formed by 60s films from the library.

It's a sad sweet little movie with a banging synth pop theme song by Lamal who was in Kajagoogo

Christopher Lloyd gibbering while being slowly flattened by a steam roller is a lesson I'll never forget

My husband keeps suggesting all our childhood movies to our kids and like....they are all....not great messages, either overt or subtle!

When they watched the Neverending Story they were HORRIFIED

That time my mom took me (4) and my brother (newly 7) to the theatre to see Howard the Duck (1986).

I distinctly remember it being on Netflix years ago but I have no idea what the rhyme or reason is for what comes and goes

You can rent it on prime and apple+. Disney bought the distribution rights to don bluths catalog earlier this year. That's different to me than shows like Space above and beyond which you cant stream at all even as a rental

I assume Disney is holding it back for being so damn depressing. But it’s a great movie.

It wasn't made by Disney so that's not their call. It is currently streaming in the hearts of all middle-aged American Jews.

There’s too many Pixar movies for me to think Disney would hold back depression
