this response perfectly sums up the failures of road engineers who design streets that you "can" drive at high speeds on because they're basically a straight line and then tack on a 35mph speed limit that everyone ignores they are not "perfectly safe at 45"!

Sure. A lot of 35 mph roads are perfectly safe at 45. The ones that aren’t have traffic-calming designs. I don’t exceed the 25 mph limit in my subdivision or similar streets because there are cars parked on either side, pedestrians walking in the road because there are no sidewalks, and kitty cats.

i'm sorry, this is an area where i am just completely unwilling to compromise. i think speeding and reckless driving are profoundly antisocial acts that are DEMONSTRABLY PROVEN to result in TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DEATHS every year in car and pedestrian crashes. this seems bad to me.

if you don't like the idea of a traffic camera snapping a photo of your car for speeding there is a very easy solution
