I think the real concern is that it will actually get trump voters to show up at the polls, and the turnout boost could be a problem.

tbh I don't think at this point conscience factors into it, the division of the American right atm leaves very little room for people with a more grey opinion of the party. It just makes him really look to be the hero they're already being told he is.
