Regarding the "bridge to Threads."
It's opt-in, it works via a kind of bot created by a user, and there's a labeler available to hide bridged users if you're not interested.
Now I want to see a "buycott" style labeler flagging companies who do shady stuff
(since labels can't have reasons/explanations specified yet it would probably need an associated site listing companies along with handles so you can search for their reason + evidence)
that is one of my prouded moments on here. everything was so new. i yelled at him just to feel something expecting to get blocked, but he was gone that instant
Essentially what snarfed did was create an opt-in service which creates a mirror account on activitypub (or on atproto if you're on activitypub)
You opt in by following the @ap.brid.gy account.
If you're not interested in seeing bridged users, @profile-labels.bossett.social has a label for it
Can you or @snarfed.org confirm that if I opt-in and later want to opt-out, I can do that by simply unfollowing @ap.brid.gy ? Will my mirrored data from bsky be deleted then?
