I just didn't want researchers to think they're completely off the hook here, though I agree it's generally due to not having enough time and resources to properly evaluate each other.

Cool. I actually used agar in a physics experiment when I was an undergrad.

At my university, it's researchers who assess other researchers not "admin types", at least when it comes to salary review and promotions.

Yep. I did the same the other day. I think it's first time someone has offered me a seat on a bus in this city.

Happy Birthday to Jocelyn Bell Burnell! I just saw her give a talk at #aaptsm24 in Boston. So good. 🧪 🔭 👩🏻‍🔬 🎢
Happy birthday to #astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell! In 1967, she was a grad student when she discovered the 1st radio pulsar, a highly magnetized, rotating neutron star that emits a beam of EM radiation. This radiation can only be observed when the star is pointed towards us; 🧵1/n 🧪🐡👩🏻‍🔬 #histsci

Really beautiful work here! 😍 Embroidery of a pulsar with a dipole magnetic field, done freehand on a sewing machine. Made by Mel Miles (melmilesart on Instagram) who is a painter, textile artist and physics undergrad. I really love this 💙 🔭👩‍🔬
