Secure in my knowledge that most things are too hard to have opinions on. (v1 of inspirational message, let's workshop it)

V1.1 - been called a Bourgeois simp. I'll take it, I think the wife would approve.

I know physiognomy (telling character from faces) has been disproven but all these republicans just seem dumb as bags of rocks before I hear a single word.. dangerous dumb bags of rocks, probably intermingled with snakes.. but..

This is insane.
I learned at an engineering conference recently that one crypto mine in TX, 100s of MW, makes more money off ERCOT demand response markets than it does off crypto repeat: TX ratepayers pay them more to sometimes stop mining than they make by actual mining just bananas misuse of power markets 🔌💡

The Macintosh Double Plus was designed to be twice as good as its predecessor - it featured double the pixels, width, floppies, and a pair of 8Mhz 68010 CPUs. Its planned successor, the Double Plus Good with a pair of 16Mhz CPUs was thrown down the memory hole. Pridecauseful.

This. Of course normal discourse usually doesn't have your listing all your priors all the way down to 'the sky is blue' in every message anyway. On the flip side, rounding '52% for, 48% against == (all of) "Britain chose Brexit" also misses the mark.
And can we please get to a default state where we look at posts on this here website and think "The author is probably aware of these nuances, but couldn't fit them all in in 300 characters"? That'd be nice.

It's interesting to me that a ton of people don't take arguments at face value, but first try to determine who the person is, and figure out (alterior?) motives. Wonder if it is a type of defense mechanism necessary to stave off an onslaught of bots/trolls, but it does hurt quality of discussion.
