Someone on FB was deeply disrespectful to me, someone I have known for decades. I was hurt. And angry. I was wound up. And then my 6-year-old crawled into my bed as if on cue to remind me of what is important. *deep breath, Rachel* You can always block the guy tomorrow. 🤣

Virginia Governor has made another asinine decision to remove cell phones from classrooms. My husband teaches kids with 504s / IEPs primarily. He incorporates cell phones into his teaching and every Principal he’s has has praised him for it. Also, what the hell happens next school shooting!? UGH.

Psst: Project 2025 is terrifying for a lot of reasons but also because on page 5 it calls for teachers and librarians who grant access to books that are maligned as pornography (which just means anything LGBTQ) to be registered as sex offenders. Pass it on.

I am SO thankful!! I will admit the past few weeks have been HARD. I still have miles to go, but these are HUGE milestones and I am CELEBRATING!!!

Girl, it was SO good. He added a little garlic powder this time, which he doesn’t always do, but that little bit of extra flavor and texture was SO good. SO good!

Thank you!! Still another few weeks of recovery ahead (and wearing the splint and upper hooks until mid-August), but I am SO thankful!!

That is how I felt!! When I asked if they could take off the bottom hooks (I knew top couldn’t happen until the splint comes off mid-August) and they said YES I was SO stoked. They said normally they can’t do a wire change at 3.5 weeks post-op due to swelling. Apparently, I am ahead of the curve!

Thank you!! Daddy uses my abuella’s recipe, so it is SUPER simple, but SUPER tasty. He also drove me around the second half of the day so Matt could take the kids to gym (I am still not sleeping enough to trust myself behind the wheel). I am SO thankful.

So much excitement!!! I am so thankful!!! The top surgical posts have to stay until after we get back from the UK (when they take out the splint) because it is all connected. But I am SO thankful.

Yesh!! The first bite of tortilla I was near tears. He par-boiled the potatoes and onions to be sure they would break down enough I could eat it. I meant to take a photo but could not stop eating. 😂

Y’all, I am the HAPPIEST girl. Surgeon said my healing is consistent with 4 weeks postop (I am 3.5). He said soft foods are in and rubber bands are OUT. Orthodontist gave me my gum graft referral AND removed the surgery hooks from my bottom wire. And... DADDY MADE ME SPANISH TORTILLA. HAPPY girl!

All checked in for my follow up and crossing fingers and toes, y'all. I am soooo ready to be done with rubber bands and open up eating possibilities some! EEE!
