Isn't there a lawsuit over their "you have to "interview" at least one black person for coaching jobs" rule since they've *dropped* to, what, 2 minority head coaches since they implemented the rule?
Itβs an actual codified rule in the NFLβ¦.but get this.
If you do hire an excellent POC coach and that coach gets hired by another team you earn additional draft picks.
β¦..NFL owners are currently bitching about this.
They think itβs gives an unfair advantage to teams who hire black coaches.
unsure if thats an NFL as an organization issue, or more of coaches are hires by ownership/CEOs of the individual teams (and it's usually some dickhead 4th generation billionaire).
The absolute audacity, especially when Kansas City 'Chiefs' fans wear fake Native headresses and do a "tomahawk chop", and the team created the name in 1963 when the US gov't was in the midst the Termination era when they were legally rescinding Natives' right to reservation lands
"You people" was a commonly used phrase when segregating groups of people, and "What do you mean, 'you people'?" became popularised as a comeback against microaggressions and stereotyping, before becoming used satirically to highlight when unwarranted virtue signalling was being used by companies.
Whichever group will take the most offense at being referred to as "you people". And almost definitely not the people the original statement was intended for.
The term "you people" has just become a meme in its own right at this point.
