Plant patents last a very long time as I recall. UGA has a fantastic plant licensing operation. 100+ varieties of blueberries and hydrangeas in addition to TuffGrass and other turfs.

20 years but way easier to get than normal patents. UGA has an efficient operation for filing them. Very cool.
