I had to put down my cat today. It was the most emotionally painful experience I've ever been through. He was 15 years old, he lived a long and happy life through most of my adulthood. I love you big potato. I hope they have great catnip up there, buddy. Take care, Baileys, I love you.

Montreal gets crazy humid in the summer, with temps usually feeling in the high 30s - low 40s (Celsius). I love the city, but if you're trying to avoid muggy summers, it's probably not your best bet. If you can, I'd say visit in July/August and see if you like it.

This attempt was the best thing to happen to him. It's completely fucked and I honestly have no idea how the Dems will bounce back, even if they do replace Biden.

I never thought my first viral post would be about Sponge Parks but hey! Good! More sponge parks!
Montreal's sponge parks, designed in a way to deviate as much rain water as possible away from the sewers, have saved a bunch of areas from flooding due to Beryl's rainfall. So you get really nice parks in a major city, with a bonus against flooding. They're making more of them now and I love it
Montreal sponge parks soak up the stormmontreal.ctvnews.ca After over 100 millimetres of rain pummelled Montreal Wednesday evening, some Montreal streets saw less flooding, and sponge parks played a big part in soaking up the precipitation.

Can someone explain to me why everyone is so pissed off this morning?

This place could use a trends section... But saying that feels like a monkey paw's finger is gonna curl up somewhere.

Using the idiom "you don't get to have your cake and eat it too" to describe a tool for alleviating a disability is absolutely insane

Don't they use "Gardienne" or "Fin de Semaine" in francophone communities outside of Québec?

I keep seeing articles about Helldivers 2 losing 90% of their player base like it's some sort of doom & gloom revelation, but like... Elden Ring's DLC came out around that same time... Pretty sure that's a major factor!

I don't think there's anything more demoralizing than doing an interview, being told you'll get a second one soon, then after a week the position is put on hold for "reevaluation" Then you keep getting LinkedIn alerts every week for that job posting. And get ghosted when you ask about it.

I can't take much more of this

Yeah I don't believe a word of anything Microsoft has to say regarding the well-being of their employees. They torched that bridge to cinders. So that whole word salad about using AI to help workers instead of replacing them is 100% horseshit.

When you get the chance, check out the Game Detectives Wiki, most major ARGs end up there and there are puzzles there that blow my mind. I recommend reading The Cyberpunk 2077 ARG section. I did a puzzle for Red Bull that was inspired by the QR Code Sudoku puzzle they did, they're crazy talented

I worked on a bunch of ARG projects and its community is simply amazing. Real friendly crowd! One of my favourite parts was overlooking the Discord after releasing a new puzzle and seeing how they solved it; the community helps each other out by giving clues instead of answers, it's really nice

*Lore spoilers for Elden Ring DLC, written as vaguely as I can* - - - - - - After finishing the Elden Ring DLC and learning about the Shaman folk's odd skin ability, the practice of grafting in the game's lore makes a LOT more sense now.
