I just want to make it as an artist, nothing wild or fancy. I don’t have huge dreams, no ambition to win awards or be a big voice in the industry. However it feels like at every turn people are trying to inch out artists more and more from making a living, whether that is low pay, AI, etc. It sucks

Wishing for an easier 2024 for all creatives✌️

One last post for the year and it's my #ArtVsArtist for 2023! It was a tough year for my creativity due to burnout, but I am pleased with the art I managed to make.

Here's another thing that I forgot to share - my first sewing project! I made the Sasha Starlight cocoon jacket for my friend's wedding back in June! Thankfully there was a video tutorial I could follow because this was a challenge for a beginner like me! I am really happy with how it turned out.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! This year I made my family reusable gift bags to put their gifts in. I got the lucky cat fabric from Kyoto when I visited Japan. 😻 It was fun to sew them and I can't wait to make more!

The most important artistic advice I can impart on people is to stop saying self-depreciating things about your work when you show it to people. Break the habit, it’s not funny, it’s not cute, it’s impulsive self-harm we do to try to take away the power other people could have to bruise our egos.

While we’re talking about masks again: a reminder that these hellaciously infectious strains do not give af about your little cloth mask and scoff at your ear loops. If you are flying or going to crowded indoor spaces get yrself a headstrap N95 with a moldable nose bridge. I like 3M Auras.
