My fear is Elon continues to decline in mental health and hygiene at the rate he appears to be doing in the newspapers,
then takes revenge for our failure to appreciate what he has “done for us.”
The rocket and spacecraft woke up on a tropical island where every question creates further questions which ultimately resolve in disappointing answers that largely boil down to "magic island"
Yes—but this reeks of: “boss, we told you, we weren’t prepared to launch”
“And I told you, I needed a distraction right now from that Nazi thing! You’re all fired!”
just got a bit turned around on some one way streets, stopped for a coffee, wound up talking to one of E's human kids about what a crap parent he is. they'll be busy for... a while
Because if you take all of the government money and give it to a corporation, that's good capitalism. Capitalism good.
If you take that same money and give it to a government entity, that's Big Government Socialism. Socialism bad.
I hope this has made things clearer.
NASA has incredibly stringent standards which Falcon 9 and Dragon had to meet, and they do a great job of it.
But with the timeline on Artemis, starship will not have the same amount of time to establish its record like Falcon 9/Dragon have.
Because Falcon 9 is the most successful American rocket right now. It delivers more payload to orbit every year than every other American launch provider combined, and for far cheaper.
It is nasa in the late 50’s when we were learning to do something new. The first stage failure was no surprise but the second stage loss stings. So close!
My father was in the first nasa engineers. He was the lead engineer of Saturn V's control panel. They were not profit-driven. We don't need corporate type's leaving trash in space. Private enterprise should be kept out.
