Users of Elon Musk's twitter discovered that any upload of the Nova Music Festival photo is instantly met with a community note no matter what the text says
Avatar
That seems like proof that the "community" notes aren't coming from the community, right?
Avatar
The idea is likely that a community note is applied to similar posts automatically. Otherwise it would be impossible to catch up with reposted misinformation (which is impossible anyway, but whatever). The logic how similar posts are identified is just dogshit, probably because Musk fired everyone.
Avatar
So is this confirmation that the community notes are automated or what?
Avatar
It indicates that at least some community notes are at least partially automated. Which I don't find very surprising, and could be a GOOD thing at times. It may still have a legit community author. Like another reply said: it confirms that the automation is sometimes sloppy, not much else.

What is this..what does any of it mean I'm so out of the loop

they’re abusing it to get automated community notes saying whatever they said was already debunked by just attaching a pic.

So pee is stored in the balls?

Was there ever any doubt?

They don't seem big enough.

Doctor Who's TARDIS uses the same technology.

That’s an optical illusion.

That’s why you have three of them.

Already debunked last year by basically every major news source.

yeah but that was november, science doesn’t just stop

Hamas apologists sometimes use that pic to support an argument that Israelis killed many of their own people at the festival. Ex-Twitter decided to attach a note concerning that claim to all posts including the picture.
Avatar
Didn't Haaretz also say Israelis killed many of their own people at the festival?
Avatar
There's one that says "Hamas did this," and it does not have the community note. Which is interesting if it's automated.

The pee one cracked me up for some reason.

1) First time I’ve seen that photo. 2) Has it been “debunked”? If so, what on earth is that a photo of?! 3) Xitter blows.

the note is actually about a video purporting to show idf firing on concertgoers. it's kinda related to the photo of the destroyed cars, as some have said the photo shows missile damage, i.e. from a helicopter. my guess is the idf simply destroyed the cars rather than risk finding any explosives.
Avatar
It’s been reported by survivors and returned hostages that the idf did in fact fire on hostages that were being taken to Gaza.

That last one did not appear to get the phrasing memo

But the reincarnation of Leni Riefenstahl claimed her shitty Nazi site (an X is on it's way to transforming into a swastika) would have the most accurate real time information. Yaccarino is a lying Nazi. 2023: "Twitter CEO pledges ‘world’s most accurate ...’’" www.aljazeera.com/economy/2023...

The AI part of Twitter automation seems to be “search and replace”.

4) (sorry) - absolutely cannot talk about October 7th on Reddit even remotely critical of HAMAS or you get the “brown-hater” label.
