I'm sorry Katie, I know your father is Richard Raytheon and he will likely have me killed for outing you, but at least I'll go out in style wearing my 9/11 clock shirt o7
whats the point of this meme? do leftists want the FBI cracking down on more mentally ill people they are 'aware of'? cause like that seems like its not gonna go great for bluesky as a whole
Circles around to the question of when the police are actually needed, and people having a homicidal psychotic episode are definitely up there no matter the level of restorative justice at play in a community.
Trouble is using those rarities to justify all the rest of it.
i mean yes. people seem to be advocating for arresting people (or similar) who haven't committed crimes based on a believed future chance
which is bad. v v bad from my leftist view.
we cannot prevent all crime. chasing that at the cost of others freedom is scary to me
and like, it sucks we cant stop all future wrong doings, harm, and murder. but i sure as shit dont want to give feds more power to try to future stop crimes. any metric you can come up with to predict will arrest more innocent people than it will save, and will be applied first against revolutionary
this is a post about a man who Last Summer was hospitalized after he told a mandatory reporter that he planned to commit domestic terrorism on a federal government installation
oh for sure, we're all about organically grown artisanal stochastic terrorism in these united states
but it's always a fun goof when they radicalize some poor bastard and lose track of them
Fuck that. The man murdered roomsful of his fellow humans. The real poor bastards are the people who have to clean up all the gore and body parts he so thoughtlessly strewed everywhere.
If you want to lay the blame at an organization’s feet, I am perfectly happy to read The Intercept’s hot exposé all about the mind control ops of the monstrous cartel that is the NRA. Where are they?
Listen, I know we all thought the measure of inaction was doing nothing when a bunch of elementary school kids are in danger, but if they won’t take a man’s guns when he threatened to shoot up a 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞 they aren’t doing shit to about this.
not defending the fbi here, but part of the problem is the lack of any legit enforcement mechanism, like, sure, they can black-bag people, but with the systems they have at their disposal, there's no publicly visible or socially acceptable way to actually address the problem before it boils over
honest question, is there actually any enforcement if people dont follow those standards?
cause that's a common problem with government "standards," no repercussions if they're ignored
often multiple agencies Empowered But Not Accountable all behave in the same incompetent manner
that said, i can't speculate about this specific instance
is this a "they just announced this" post or "we're waiting for them to announce this" post bc i don't see a source anywhere yet saying this
(my surprised face will be 😐though)
