It's a three-way tie for last as to which airline treats its Africa-bound passengers the worst: Air France, Brussels Airlines, and KLM. Have flown all three, of course on their oldest aircraft, and my god how do they stay in business at such astronomical prices with such horrible service. 1/

AF can be friendly whereas KLM flight from Namibia via Angola to Amsterdam ranks among my absolute worst in recent decades. Screen at my seat was flashing and couldn't be switched off, and after asking the stewardess if anything could be done she handed me a barf bag and pieces of tape to cover it.

Well now I’m Definitely looking forward to my flight on Brussels air to Nairobi next month! 🤣

I’ve done some absolutely ridiculous flights to/from Asia and the pacific, including that 19 hour direct flight from nyc to Singapore and a 24-hour/four connecting flights absurdity to visit my brother in Palau.

My brother was in the peace corps there. We spend two weeks scuba diving! It was pretty spectacular! My trip to Nairobi is actually to visit him again since that’s now where he lives.

Twice in Abu Dhabi while transiting from USA to South Africa had to go through X-ray screening prior to onward connection — also upon return.

Amsterdam is not as bad as Paris but if you look closely....yeah.... the segregation and sudden drop quality is there.

I have a distinct memory of going to a chocolate shop with my very dark skinned partner during a layover in Amsterdam and having the shop owner be polite to me and just completely freeze my partner out. I was just like… oh so that’s European racism, okay.
