Back in November, we had to transform my office into my mom's bedroom. After all her suffering and bad nights sleeping during her time here, I couldn't just move back into the space, which felt dark and unhappy. So this weekend we repainted and rearranged. Meet my new office!

I guess Bidens age doesn't matter that much to me cause I don't think US Presidents do nearly as much as the myth likes to tell. Reagan spent the back end of his run with Alzheimers, last guy played golf & shitposted for 4 years, idc if Bidens an ent who speaks once a yr, taking it over Project 2025

Because humanity isn't about what you look like or where you've come from; it's what you do. And that's a goofy, PollyAnna, Disneyish thing to say: but show me a single piece of horror that isn't about that. Horror is about what makes us human, what we declare to be human. What we will defend.

It can be scary to go on. It can be tempting to go limp, side with the Ancient Ones, preserve your life a little longer; why *not* join an enemy faction instead of getting crushed to a paste? And horror says: EVEN IF you have been crushed, or transformed, or even killed, you can still be human.

I think part of our work as horror writers in 2024 is to help people unlock the parts of themselves that can face terror and adversity without losing their humanity & goodness. We are entering an era of fear and horror like our species has never faced. We need heart.

This story is absolutely haunting and feels very (sadly...) relevant to our world today. Another must-read by Thomas Ha! I really loved this one.
Latest story, "Grottmata," is now online at @nightmare-magazine.com. A space colony is plagued by a series of inexplicable deaths; an Inspector and a factory girl know more than they let on. Thanks again to Wendy and the Nightmare team for taking this and for their care with this one.
Grottmata - Nightmare Magazinewww.nightmare-magazine.com The soldiers start rounding up us factory girls just before sunrise. We smoke cigarettes and stand in a line against the remnants of a brick wall that used to be a bakery, facing the sheer black of th...

So, a lot has happened on the health front. No final answers yet, but what we've learned so far needs to be followed up, & fast. For that, I need at least $11,000 (to go to $55,000 overall) for blood tests, CT scans, consultant fees & more. Please donate & share! www.gofundme.com/f/help-r-s-a...

Just got a nice note from someone who had discovered my essay about the Gardiner cemetery that ran in @thedeadlands.com. He had recently visited the cemetery and found it as creepy and delightful as me, and in fact referred to the town as a kind of "Salem's Lot." Sounds about right!
