I won't be able to participate in any kind of revolution on account of I require a regularly supplied and available corner pharmacy in order to live. Maybe we could keep our flawed republic going for a bit longer? I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Have any of you had whole genome sequencing? What do you do with the information once you get the results back? What did you find out, if anything?

Apartments erected then everyone evicted so they can sit empty for landlords to hope to collect on rising rents while the people are prevented from going home by the pigs. Fields plowed under, the animals killed, ecosystem demolished for rapidly decaying strip malls in middle american wastelands.

Mountains of unused food - animals slaughtered in the million for no purpose whatsoever, vegetables tilled into the ground, food thrown in dumpsters and covered in bleach. Hills of pristine electronics, never used but designed to break, expensive clothing torn to shreds so the poor can't wear it.

People talk about how socialists and anarchists want us to live without any luxuries or joys in order to slow production for ecological reasons but you might not have an idea of the SHEER MAGNITUDE of what we make now that's simply thrown into the trash.

I know a lot of trans people are also into very hot hot sauces but what's your favorite delivery vehicle for the hot sauce? I always eat it by putting it on a spicy nacho dorito, it's like my reference baseline for comparing different sauces ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

Remember 2020, when all of us huddled in our homes, trying not to get covid, watched trump, sneering, tell us to take dewormer and inject bleach? We all said: "I don't care who his opponent is. I'd vote for a houseplant to keep him out of office." I'm literally begging y'all to keep that promise.

I think some people only think "accomplishing" something if it's on a big scale like winning an election. And not things like "made a few friends, made a person have a good day, learnt/taught something new, etc.
Itโ€™s funny cause people tell me *all the time* how theyโ€™ve learned from me and found community through my posts and been uplifted and connected to others and gotten tools to recognize and fight hate and felt less alone in the world. But I guess fuck that right? Iโ€™m not accomplishing anything.

History will recall that the New York Times, that bastion of "the liberal media," on July 4, 2024 chose to give prime space on their op-ed page to a theocratic absolutist who argued that people shouldn't vote, even though he himself has voted in the last 2 elections (but nowhere is that mentioned).
When I first saw this I thought "no, that can't possibly be true." But alas, the Times did indeed choose today of all days to publish a right winger's recycled piece about how they don't vote, failing to mention that the author basically thinks absolutist theocracies are cool.

This one was also due to losing Chevron deference

Okay, there was actually a fourth ruling yesterday - in Texas and Montana v. Becerra the court stayed the new section 1557 rule in those two states, also citing the overturn of Chevron deference to define sex as biological sex storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

โ€œOh Trump is a conman, heโ€™s pulling the wool over peoples eyesโ€ Yeah to some degree, but the main core reason he was President and might well be President again is a lot of people fucking love being racist
Avatar
Everyone is always afraid to say why people like Trump or Marie Le Pen have some level of popularity and itโ€™s just that thereโ€™s a lot of people in the world who believe in racism. You end up with these goofy ass explanations for Trump where itโ€™s NAFTA or shit and itโ€™s like no you know what it is

This is predictable but so important: Pasteurizing milk kills the H5N1 bird flu virus that is circulating widely in dairy cattle. It's easy to take a 150-year-old technique that has saved countless lives for granted, but don't fool around with unpasteurized dairy products. ๐Ÿงช
