After spending forever trying to plan something new and ambitious for the outside of the box that's going to hold my biggest magpie deck, I decided to go with something more simple and familiar.
Still tough, because consistency in drawing lines is tough, but easier than the original plan. #witchsky
I have friends who argue that all foods are either a sandwich, a soup, or a salad. Personally I prefer a more complex taxonomy based on the number of sides enclosed by bread, but I get where they're coming from.
Steel is technically my partner's cat, but his Daddy isn't active on here.
Chaotic Neutral Barbarian. INT and WIS are both dump scores. He rages when you touch the belly.
A few days ago I finished my new shadowbox for charm casting! I use a shadowbox to contain the charms so none fly away when I drop them. This box has a design for a monthly or Wheel of the Year casting right on it, or I can insert a board with a different design on top of that.
It's the weekend closest to a personal holiday of mine, so I went for a walk in the park. I saw the ducks below, a squirrel, deer tracks, and a fleeting glimpse of something that looked groundhog sized but had a long, fat tail more like a squirrel's in terms of proportions. No idea what it was.
Progress on that project I shared earlier in the week. It's not "bad" but it's not my style. So, as I said, it's going to get a treatment to make it more subtle, and next time I'll do things differently.
This isn't coming out as intended - I should've tested all of the colors together before starting. But once I paint/color the rest of the cells, I'll probably cover it with a layer of clear gesso mixed with a little white gesso, to mute and soften everything. Then I'll have a base for the next step.
oh it's Thursday! let's do show and tell Thursday: show me something you made or something you're working on! quotes and replies are both ok, and everything counts
This is the one I made. The base was made by someone on Etsy; if you search you can probably find 'em. It was untreated; I used acrylic markers and acrylics to add color.
And it's the perfect size for the shadowbox I use to keep my charms from flying everywhere when I drop them!
