Royals avoid a sweep with a 9th-inning rally to walk it off! Down 3-1, Vinnie singled, Salvy walked, and Nelly drove them both in with a TRIPLE! Loftin hit it plenty deep enough for Nelly to score. Final: 4-3 Royals. Icing on the cake? Guardians already lost.

The 2024 Royals were so good the first half of May and have been pretty awful this week. The main problem is the bullpen. McArthur and Schreiber went from being dependable to dependably hittable. Zerpa remains strong and I’m not sure why they don’t use Sam Long more. Bottom line: 1/2

No other nation has ever prosecuted a former leader, except for about half of them, so you can see why this is so outrageous.

Royals have suddenly lost 3 straight. Unforced errors are the story.

Sadly, the Royals’ 8-game win streak ended today in an offensive drought against the Rays. Mistakes were made, including leaving Wacha in for two batters too long (he still turned in a quality start), but what it came down to was not getting timely hits.

The #Royals have won 8 in a row for the first time in 7 years. While several of these games have been laughers, today’s was a test of character. The Rays came back from a deficit at home three times and finally lost in the 11th with the tying run at the plate. This Royals team is for real.

Among the many jaw-dropping Royals stats this year is this gem: they are the only MLB team with at least one XBH (extra-base hit) in every single game of the season. We’ve won 7 straight and in the last 5 have scored 8 runs or more. 1/2

My 32-19 #Royals have won six straight, sweeping two series at home, and are in sole possession of the best home record in the AL (tied with Philly for best in #MLB). Unfortunately, Cleveland has also won 6 straight and stands at 33-17, leading the division. Season series begins June 4.
