I am fed up with the app-ification of things. I don't want 327 apps on my phone or whatever in order to see my bills and pay my bills and order pizza and check the weather and find out when the garbage is being collected and get notified of emergencies. This is ridiculous.

Getting free babysitting from your mom is all fine and dandy until she starts shaming you for your extremely expired baking ingredients.

At my big age, having a shitty day and letting that propel me into having a glass of wine is like saying, “today was terrible, let’s make sure tomorrow will be terrible, too.”

It used to seem strange to me that in GHOSTBUSTERS 2, basically everyone in New York City had memory-holed that the dead rose from the grave all over the city only five years earlier. It makes more sense to me now.

I just realized it’s only been 56ish hours since Biden dropped out. It feels like it has been at least 9-10 days. The next few months are going to really be something.

Yesterday my kiddo had a meltdown, which led to missing out on part of our day, which led to another meltdown. I had to keep telling her that we can’t go back, we have to move forward and do our best. This story is about politics.

Something that is frustrating to me as I’ve gotten farther and farther left is how Democratic Party loyalists *can not* take criticism. And honestly, I was just like this 8 years ago. But it’s depressing to have real complaints and be told, “well of course we can’t talk about that and win.”

Kids wanted to watch IF today (highly recommend, husband and I were weeping) but what clinched us having to rent a new service to watch it was that now we get to watch Yellowjackets!!!! First episode was a fucking ride, I am so excited.

I withstood the era of people telling me I should read Hillbilly Elegy because of where I'm from. Now I'm living free and easy in the era of people hating J.D. Vance, and I never lifted a finger.

I feel like I’m winning parenting because my kids (7 & 10) asked to watch Legally Blonde, and youngest said it was her favorite movie ever. It also gave me the opportunity to explain power dynamics. We all decided it’s good Elle learned to do things for herself and not what a boy wants.

I gotta say, driving over multiple freeways through the outskirts of Los Angeles is one hell of a way to see fireworks.

We finally had a chance to see The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and I can see why everyone was raving about it. It’s delightfully silly, but it’s still so sweet at the core. Like a coming of age movie for grown men.

Seeing my liberal friends talk about how great Newsom will be as a presidential candidate next cycle is the worst. I hate his policies, and I’m so tired of right leaning centrists.

I was laughing about Aaron Rodgers seeing a shadowy figure he calls the hat man since doing ayahuasca- until my husband explained that many people see the hat man, and he made me google it. So anyway, I’ll be sleeping with the lights on tonight.

Awww, RIP Donald Sutherland. What an incredibly body of work he had, and of course I jumped to how much I loved him in the original “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

I’m so proud of our unfriendly pandemic dog! He’s been really getting better about socializing lately. First he was really well behaved on a campout with friends last month, then tonight we hosted family from out of town and no one was bitten or growled at. The best boy.

The “jokes” about Timberlake’s DWI needing to result in conservatorship are showing me just how little ableism was dismantled when people rallied to Free Britney. Which is to say almost none.

Has anyone done a zombie story/film about how the government says the zombie problem is over and they don't record/publish zombie-related death info anymore and everyone goes back to normal life but vulnerable people keep getting killed by zombies and no one cares, has anyone done that
