Ran to the other room to let my spouse know the good news from France and then felt all the feelings I've been suppressing about the European elections

There's a bakery up the street from me where they saw my email on an order and started drawing tubas on the bags. So I saved em for a year and made a collage for them. Which they then hung up and curated like a museum piece. I love em there and they're always happy to see me ❤️

The dress show at the de Young Museum is exactly what you think it is plus some insipid music (I confirmed with the guard that yea, it was driving her crazy) but there was a Venetian Mariano Fortuny gown. Delphos Dress c 1920.

Pouring one out for all the Idaho kids who won’t get to go to the library because their parents will get nervous about singing an affidavit.
This is one of the most dystopian signs I've ever seen. Republicans are quickly turning this country into an unrecognizable freakshow.

also even though its not perfect, if you can't while a full description for something like art or photos without text, you just put a few words in like "a drawing of an elf" or "a picture of my cat", its much much better than putting nothing and can get you started on the habit
For Disability Pride Month I’m once again begging for more artists to start considering accessibility and add alt text to your images. It helps low/no vision folks, neurodivergent folks, and more. Plus alt text shows up in searches! There’s a toggle in settings so you won’t forget. 👇

My life in vignettes of trying to nap on medical exam tables. Streaming music and a pair of headphones have really improved the experience.

Slowly, slowly. Wouldn't be nice to be able to fine museums for every year they delay return once informed they hold stolen property or even from the date of acquisition.

Bought a pair of art glass pendants from a local guy flipping them from a rich person's house in Marin and am in the first blush of coquettish Rococo love with them like a Boucher painting. [L: Lundberg Studios R: Boucher, Spring from Four Seasons of Love, 1755]

I spent time behind the scenes reporting about Betye Saar’s “Drifting Toward Twilight” which incorporates an array of Saar’s signature found objects as well as flora from the Huntington’s grounds. Mysterious, layered, the piece feels like something out of antiquity. huntington.org/frontiers/be...

When we had to move a conference from Texas, we got some very angry comments from a section of membership. I didn't know how to make people, especially people who cannot get pregnant, understand the new reality.

When we create funerary monuments for the United States, I suggest using the dismayed putti of this Pietro Lombardo workshop monument to Marcantonio Sabello at the Correr in Venice.

Race is still factored in. White applicants get to keep the advantages they've accrued through systemic racism without any countervailing forces.
