Stephen Miller now following Trump's lead and saying he has nothing to do with Project 2025. 1. His organization is on the Project 2025 advisory board. 2. He recorded a video as part of Project 2025 training tools 3. You can see Mandate for Leadership, the Project 2025 publication in the background

I will bang this drum forever: in THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE FREE: THE GERMANS, 1933-45 Milton Mayer interviewed 10 ordinary Germans after WW2 to learn how fascism took hold. There was never a moment when everyone woke up:
if you’re waiting for everyone around you to wake up, you’ll wait forever. this is how the people grinding our bones to make their bread WANT you to be. paralyzed, alienated & purposeless

The Court ruling today is terrible but expected. I will just gently remind everyone that the election hasn’t happened yet. We shouldn’t assume the worst outcome as a foregone conclusion. That only encourages more apathy than many are already feeling.

A branch that gave itself a power not granted to it by the Constitution is using that power to amass more power and further weaken the democratically legitimate branches. We're being turned into a monarchy run by judges
This is big: The Supreme Court has overruled the "Chevron" doctrine, which gave administrative agencies leeway to interpret ambiguous laws. This will decrease agencies' regulatory power and give a lot more power to courts. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...

It's hard to explain how widespread the repercussions of overturning Chevron deference will be. Even if you narrow the scope down to tech policy, you're left wrangling a super-explainer on a friday afternoon www.theverge.com/24188365/che...

Combine these decisions alongside Citizens United and Snyder (facilitating bribery of public officials), brought to you by the Federalist Society, and it’s been an incredible era for translating money, rather than votes, into political power
Long after the debate is forgotten, the 6-3 decisions overruling Chevron via Loper Bright and Jarksey will have fundamentally weakened the ability of the American government to function against the most powerful interests in society.

I know we're all tired, but please CALL YOUR REPS. The Kids Online Safety Act is still a super dangerous bill that would censor social media and endanger your privacy online. The GOP supports it because they can use it to drive LGBTQIA+ people off the internet. Please keep calling!
The House has just announced that they will move forward with a Congressional markup of the dangerous Kids Online Safety Act, which will lead to privacy-invasive online age verification for social media.

The current Supreme Court majority is godawful enough, but a Trump win could lock in that majority for a couple decades and would have a decent chance at expanding it to a 7-2 conservative court. Thomas, 75 Alito, 73 Sotomayor, 69 Roberts, 69
