I'd bet they're right: he can't be trusted to speak coherently in public without a teleprompter. I don't think you can come from behind in a presidential campaign with that handicap.
This is also not true, Max. The events the night of the debate were not on prompter and obviously the time he spent with voters at the watch party and the waffle house weren’t either.
Genuinely, did he take questions at the events on the night of the debate? I am sorry that I don't think shaking people's hands at a Waffle House is a sufficient example of what Pelosi is calling for.

Look, I'm not, like, pro-Kamala. I think I prefer Biden to her, and see her as the likely beneficiary of him passing the torch. But, we're dealing with a crisis here, and there is no other choice.

My god. The press briefing was SO annoying. I don't even know how many asked the SAME question. Q: What about a physical? A: He had one in Feb. Q: Not seen a doc since? A: No Q: Not even after a cold? A: It was a cold!

A better argument is just the honest one - he was losing before the debate and then had an abysmal debate. He continues to be losing after the debate, and doesn’t appear to be capable of doing anything to change it.
what matters is are the swing state voters persuaded. polling suggests not. then what matters is are major funders persuaded. and if the polling dips further, they won't be. and then it's over.
